IPM
2008 was once again able to increase the number of
visitors and the internationality of the event. Approximately 60,000
visitors from 93 countries attended the most important trade show
in the horticultural industry. With even
more exhibitors from even more countries, IPM offered the visitors
the complete overview of the market in all sectors relating to plants,
technology, floricuture and sales promotion. 1,423 exhibitors from
46 countries were present at IPM 2008.
The largest groups of
visitors consisted of plant producers, horticultural businesses,
horticulturists, landscape gardeners and florists. The interests
of the visitors centered on plants (70%), technology (32%), floriculture
(30%) and sales promotion (22%).
Many shows and presentations
were also taking place during IPM. The German Florists' Association
had a "Green City" which included beautiful displays and
explanations of floral arranging and together the ZVG (German Federal
Horticultural Assn) and Messe Essen staged an "Innovation Showcase"
for the first time.
Products
at IPM include: flowers, trees, flowering shrubs, plants, containers
& pots, florist supplies, seeds, greenhouse technology, sales
promotion and so much more.
IPM
China has quickly established its place in the Asian
market. Since it's premiere in December 2006, IPM China has grown
to 248 exhibitors and more than 10,600 visitors from 35 countries.
This exciting event which takes place in Foshan, China, is now an
annual event, supporting US companies through SUSTA, the Southern

In March
of this year, IPM Dubai took
place for the second time as well. More than 2,500 visitors attended
to view the products of the 200 exhibitors. The visitors came from
all the important target groups such as plant production, wholesale
and retail trade as well as horticulture and landscaping. Visitors
traveled from the entire Gulf region, East Africa, the Indian subcontinent
and Central Asia. European and American visitors used IPM Dubai
to get an overview of the market and in some cases decide to exhibit
next year.
