There was no sign of an
economic crisis at the last IPM 2009 trade show. More than 1,445
exhibitors from 47 countries displayed their latest products and
innovations to the more than 60,000 trade buyers that came to the
show. Heinz Herker, President of the German Federal Horticultural
Associaton explained the reason behind this: "When a harsh
wind is blowing around the world, people like to retreat into their
own 4 walls and make it nice for themselves. We gardeners are proud
to offer the corresponding products."
Visitors to IPM came from
more countries than ever before. There has been a rise in the numbers
of visitors from Asia, America and Africa. The largest group of
visitors are plant producers, horticultural businesses, florists,
horticulturalists and landscape gardeners. Visitors were especially
interested in maintaining and establishing business contacts, obtaining
information about innovations and sectoral trends, continuing their
education and finding stimuli for their own activities. They were
focused primarlily on plants (70%), technology (30%), floriculture
(30%) and sales promotion (23%).
For the first time, Messe
Essen will roganize a subsidiary of IPM Essen in Moscow.
Flowers
IPM Tech Moscow will join the already existing
"Flowers" trade show. The show will present all
aspects of the green industry with the IPM Section concentrating
on technology.
IPM
China has quickly established its place in
the Asian market. Since it's premiere in December 2006, IPM China
has grown to 203 exhibitors and more than 8,900 visitors. This exciting
event which takes place in Foshan, China, is now an annual event,
supporting US companies through SUSTA, the Southern US Trade Association.
A US Pavilion, made up of 7 companies was a huge success. If you
are interested in exhibiting in the next IPM China from December
1 - 3, 2009, please contact us.
In March of this year,
IPM Dubai took place
for the third time. In just three years, the number of exhibitors
has tripled! 2009 boasted 240 exhibitors showing their newest technology
and green goods to more than 3,000 visitors. The visitors came from
all the important target groups such as plant production, wholesale
and retail trade as well as horticulture and landscaping. Visitors
traveled from the entire Gulf region, East Africa, the Indian subcontinent
and Central Asia. European and American visitors used IPM Dubai
to get an overview of the market and in some cases decide to exhibit
next year.
